A very halcyon, cloudy day at this osprey nest but suddenly this rogue female osprey begins an assault on the male of the osprey pair tending the one remaining osprey chick in the nest. I had been watching the nest for hours and was curious why there was only one chick as there are normally 2 or 3 ?????
Great set of images!!!!Vic
It is things like this that increase our passion for sitting and hoping for some of the "good stuff!"
Great action set. In the 4th photo I see 2 young ones. Don't know why one is attacking. In a nest at a NP not to far from where I live, The kids are flying already for a while & I only see one hanging at the nest mostly. A lot of the times they are in a nearby tree. I think the parents are a making them a little less dependent every day. In the one photo she is bringing new nest materials to freshin up the nest. Could be she is wanting , or trying to force them to start flying more. In the other photos I only see one kid in the nest. Another thing is , these osprey chicks grow pretty fast.

Wonderful series. Must have been fascinating to watch. I would love to hear an ornithologist perspective on this.
Great action series, Vic.
Very interesting series. Bev
talk about being at the right place and right time time
just a perfect set, couldn't get any better
Wow! That must have been something to watch! I didn't realize they would do that. I glad you remember in the moment to take these excellent shots to document the action.
