Osprey Nest...Under attack

A very halcyon, cloudy day at this osprey nest but suddenly this rogue female osprey begins an assault on the male of the osprey pair tending the one remaining osprey chick in the nest. I had been watching the nest for hours and was curious why there was only one chick as there are normally 2 or 3 ?????
