Oh no! Linda, I’m so sorry to read this. If it was my fur baby (10 year old) I know I would be crying my eyes out. They really have a way of working their way into our hearts.

My heart goes out to you. REJ.
A beautiful portrait of Trixie.
Sincere sympathy. Have been through similar, and will be again. It never gets any easier. RIP Trixie.

she will be in your heart forever..................I know....from experience.

Linda, you have my heartfelt sympathy and I understand your sadness at no longer having Trixie beside you. I think sometimes losing a long time canine friend can be no less painful than losing a human friend.
We lost Molly, a Swedish Vallhund, after 14 years (a few weeks before NZ went into Covid lockdown) and just over a year later, I still think of her every day. Molly is buried under the lawn outside my home office.
Time is a great healer but the memories remain. I look at the photos we have of Molly almost every day, even tho we now have another Vallhund, a boy named Badger.
He is a 6 year old and was virtually untrained as he was a breeders 'stud' dog. I never intended us to get another dog and of course he will never replace Molly in my affections.
But against my expectations, it has helped. Even if occasionally I call him Molly by mistake.
Month by month it gets better and although I still miss Molly, already we love Badger. He will never replace Molly but sits beside her in my thoughts.
It is early days but think about it a little bit, maybe, one day another little Trixie following you around the house?
Badger is under my desk as I write. Dogs give a lot and expect much less.
But of course, you know that.
Sorry for you, and a beautiful photo to remember her by!
Thank you all for your very kind comments.
So sorry to hear about Trixie Linda, such a sad time when it happens, but there are great memories to remember from the last ten years..
We know going in that it will not last forever but that doesn't make saying good bye any easier. So sorry to hear of your loss.
Sorry to read this Linda - our dogs really become members of the family.
Sincere sympathies Linda. Your photo is lovely. Our hearts do heal.❤️🩹
My heart breaks for you, Linda. She will always be with you.
