Just make sure you use HDMI to connect to the monitor and modify your GPU settings so that it will display full color range.

You can have a local independent computer shop build you desktop for a very competitive price. Let the shop know what you will be using the computer for and they will put one together for you. One advantage is you can always upgrade individual components. Finally, buy a good power supply. Use the software requirements as a starting point for your computer component selection specifications. Just add the next generation of components, but you don't need the very best, newest, and most powerful. You can't build your monitor, so use your funds saved on your computer to buy a good monitor. Check with your local computer shop for a monitor.
PC magazine has several articles on building a computer. The computer shop will assist you in selecting components that work with each other. Usually this is one of the obstacles, so get a couple of competitive bids from local computer shops. These shops usually sell new OEM components which are intended for computer manufacturing firms and this includes your local computer shop. You can save a good amount of money.
I built my first desktop computer during the homebrew days and I am looking to update one of my desktops for digital editing, as soon as I select my software. I have lived in the Unix/Linux world, so It looks like I may have to use Billware (Microsoft) again...oh well!
