Re teleconverters for Sigma e-mount glass. I read on one of the European alpha blogs that Sony has refused to license Sigma to produce teleconverters, thus they are available only for Sigma's proprietary mount. Hope that will change soon.

Yes Sony hasn't given license to others like Sigma and Tamron to produce teleconverters for their E-mount lenses, even though Sony owns a good part of Tamron company.

So when I need the extra reach I just shoot JPEG-fine and use the CIZ 1.4 and 2.0 "teleconverter" function, which, while it has some downsides, doesn't reduce light through the lens and so doesn't adversely affect the autofocus capability.

I have a similar strap by Peak Designs. Weight is a concern for me since I have back issues. The Tamron 150-600 lens nearly did me in. I returned it. The Sony 100-400 was totally comfortable and I have no trouble carrying it or using it handheld.
