Setting the Mood - Before & After

Viewing the "After" before the "Before", I was puzzled at what it might be. But yes - as an exercise in using Photoshop to make changes to a photo it is successful. The "Before" is a good pic - but if the "After" is to represent fog, for me it doesn't work at all.

Very effective Jim, at first glance I thought it was an underwater image. Like the colour scheme and the dramatic light.

I really like the original image, but I also love the Photoshop transformation! Ditto what Fotoartist said!
I always admire your work and creativity, Jim! Thank you for sharing!

Excellent work, Jim. I really like the mood you established in the final product.

I'm posting the before and after pictures then one showing all the layers to create the look. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

One documents nice sunny day... then with processing the gloom effect feeds the imagination to tell a horror story about a ship infested with rats hitting the lighthouse island and the rats swarming the lighthouse seeking the fresh meat of the lighthouse keepers. A bit of processing makes a big difference. Well done Jim-Pop

Thirty minute radio show... turn off the lights... sit back and listen to painting with words... "3-Skeleton Key"...

Wow! Just goes to show the broad range of effects that can be achieved. Having said that, I really liked the before shot as compared to the surrealistic after image. Just more to my taste. Thanks for sharing.

As we can see by the replies there are likes in both directions. Fun to see. Thanks so m much for commenting.

I have become a PS junkie. So I much appreciate what you have done with your original shot. The sky’s the limit for your PP skills. Pun intended.😀

The first shot is so interesting, full of color and texture and well composed. BUT what you have done shown in image #2 is given in the drama--mystery, devastation, looming danger, war torn, prophetic. It holds one's attention.
