I took this picture while on vacation. I liked it but now will some Photoshop under my belt I thought I could set a different mood for the picture.
I'm posting the before and after pictures then one showing all the layers to create the look. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Very effective Jim, at first glance I thought it was an underwater image. Like the colour scheme and the dramatic light.

Excellent work. You went from a calm day at the shore to apocalyptic.

I'd like to see the fog and the colorful rendering of the pipe/post. Have you considered trying it?

Thank you. Surprised you thought it was underwater. Made me look at it again.🤔

I went back and looked and tried after your suggestion but no it then looks like bad time of the day for taking a picture creating no emotion within the setting.

Both versions are very good. You started with a fine image and enhanced it.

Only one suggestion...
The fog effect at the bottom is great.
You may want to remove it above it so that the top seems to emerge from it. This would avoid the confusion with the clouds.

Regardless,

Wow Jim, what a difference. Your Photoshop skills are already known and appreciated and this is just another example. Would it hurt your feelings if I said I like the original better?

Wow! Just goes to show the broad range of effects that can be achieved. Having said that, I really liked the before shot as compared to the surrealistic after image. Just more to my taste. Thanks for sharing.
