Revisiting an older creation: daytime photo converted to black and white using Nik Silver Efex, partial invert (negative image). Moon added. Not exactly realistic lighting on the bridge, but a lot of fun to do!

My inspiration was from a former UHH member, Jim Hill, with this fascinating image:

WOW Linda. Wonderful work. I don't find the moon at all objectionable. I would like to see screen shots of the workflow.

Definitely surreal. Has an other-worldly look. Extremely well done.

Thanks so much, Jack. I changed my wording in the opening to clarify that it's the lighting (and shadows) on the bridge that might be less than realistic
Would you believe I have seven separate psd files of various iterations of this? I don't remember being quite so manic that day!
There are many tweaks to levels, brightness etc. The silver toning was actually done at the end, in Color Efex. For "straight" b&w, I encourage folks to explore the toning options within Silver Efex.
Let me know if you have questions and I'll try to figure out the right answer
Original
Initial conversion to b&w
Inverted
De-selected sky, did a new invert and some masking, combined the layers, added the moon layer.

This image is right up my surrealism alley Linda. B&W very effective. Nicely done!
Linda, very different from your usual style but I like it. Great texture and tone!
Thank you very kindly, Johnny. So glad you enjoyed.

One of your best Linda!
Thanks Keni! Below my embedded pic in the opening is a link to the image of Jim Hill's that inspired me. He was one of UHH's true artists with many intriguing works, including his "drive by" (at 80 mph) photos that ended up in an exhibition

I find this shot very appealing, Linda. It checks all my "modern", "minimalist" boxes.
