It appears the calibration used in the video is not available in LR CC (Or I did not find it). I was looking at this setting the other day for other reasons.

It's on my 6.14.

And I want it to be as I SAW it. Usually my monitor does that very well. And if there's not a large blob of red, the reds will print beautifully. It's almost like the printer gets OD'd on red when there's a huge patch of it in the image.

One of the things you need to do to accomplish accurate prints is to color calibrate your workflow and select the exact icc profile for your paper, printer and inkset. It can be daunting the first time through, but I would suggest reading about this on the Red River Paper website. I use an Epson P800, Red River Paper and genuine Epson ink. It works rather well but takes a bit of time at first. Red River Paper has icc profiles for their papers and many different printers on their website as well. I print on Red River Paper and am well satisfied with the output, product and costs. Best of luck.

Thanks. I actually have done this for the papers I use most often. Thanks!

It is in the Develop module and at the bottom by default. It is also in the Camera Raw filter in PS.

So it is my fault.

Thank you for the info.

This is what they look like with a large Tint shift towards green (-30) in Lr6. I don't know what they looked like in reality so I only have your comments to go on. They may need a WB shift as well, but that's something you'll have to decide.

The Tint shift is the only adjustment that I gave them to demonstrate the point. -30 is an unusually large shift but I suspect the camera was caught out by a situation that it's not good at assessing accurately.

Very interesting! I'll try that!

This might work maybe not.
I shot a red rose a while back and the red was the best I ever shot. Still not sure why. I shot the rose with my secondary camera Nikon D810. Recently I used the camera for some people shots and noticed the skin was way off color almost orange. I started looking around and noticed my picture control was set to Vivid. Not sure when I did this since I watch YouTube videos all the time trying new things. I reset my camera to Standard and everything is back to normal. Haven't shot red again. Long story short I think you might try changing your setting when shoot a primary red shot. On the Nikon there are several choices. Below is the menu and a sample of the red flower.

I do have several styles set up - mostly for landscapes vs horses. Unfortunately in the heat of the moment, I forget they exist! I'll look into that.

It truly is a balancing act! I took a lot of shots this weekend that I suspect will be very challenging. These are very pretty even if the color isn't exact.

Thanks, Carol. That's encouraging. I guess since viewers don't KNOW what colour they actually were, then not getting it perfect matters only to me.

None of that matters if you shoot RAW, which you said you are doing. Any correction needs to be done in PP once you have achieved a color balanced system AND selected the correct icc file! The adjustments you are looking for are the bottom most in the Develop Module, but this can be re-arranged by you, if you wish. Best of luck.
