Get it right vs fix it in post...

No it doesn't. You're fundamentally dishonest. In that quote it says most people. You turn "most people" into "no one notices." Explain how most and no one are the same. You said I was the only one who notices. How is that possible? If I'm the only one then most people would be inaccurate.
You're dishonest. I said most people shoot with auto white balance, you disagreed. Obvious (to me) if the overwhelming majority shoot auto white balance, they must not notice a problem with it, or they wouldn't do it. "No one notices" was never meant to mean no one in the history of photography ever noticed a white balance issue, other than you. You know that perfectly well, so you are being dishonest.
As usual, you are over analyzing everything, just like you do with photo's. Get your nose out of the books and try being honest, at least with yourself...

You show me where -- quote it.

Here is the difference between a high quality and a low quality compression of a 64x64 pixel crop from the sky.
We can see evidence of an 8x8 pixel grid in the low compression quality version but not in the high compression quality version.
So in order to make the compression grid visible you have been using lower quality compression.
That's not honest.

What?! How can the compression grid become visible?!!!!!!! HOW?!!!!!! That's not possible according to you. Right? Especially since you control the level of JPEG compression used by all cameras past and present. Right? All camera manufacturers do what you tell them. Right?
I have always identified the compression level I used when I had that option. When I first answered JD750's question I had no control over the compression used by the camera. From the start I acknowledged that the issue is much less critical today with modern cameras. I repeat the topic is:
editing a JPEG can produce a unique-to-JPEG form of degradation where the editing causes the compression grid to become visible.I remain correct about that. I have not been dishonest in any way. And your attempts to prove otherwise have been dismissed as rubbish and BS:

I'm not the only one here who has noticed that you are dishonest about your dishonesty. When you get caught you go on the offensive rather than admit that you are fallible.
I guess it's just your nature.

Unsubstantiated accusations. This isn't the first time you've falsely accused me when you had nothing else. You are without integrity or self-respect. We've known that for a long time now.
Concerning this thread, the acronym M.E.G.O. comes to mind. My Eyes Glaze Over.

That's fine, but you are aware that you absolutely do NOT have to follow a thread. If you can't control yourself from participating in a thread that M.E.G.O, you can click the UNWATCH button included on every page, or attempt to add something to the thread that might perk your interest, keeping in mind that what interests you will not interest everyone, or sometimes anyone. My interest has waned a good bit as well. It generally does on long threads regardless of initial interest. It's the nature of the beast.
I’m still watching for nuggets that are still popping up.
