Over the past years i have been using lightroom classic to post process etc,and have been very happy with it until recently when i went to update lrm classic to the 10.2 version. It screwed up everything and i have 8,000 odd images that went missing. What is a good alternative pp program. Photoshop elements,on on one or what?? Thanks for your help?

I am in the process of creating a list of software...

Scroll down the list and check for 'Organizer' There are quite a few listed.

As to know what is their 'reputation' or ease of use. I not have that yet, sorry.

LR wants you to backup your library regularly.
Why not go back to the previous version and restore using one of those backups?

ON1 is worth auditioning for your LR replacement.

Why not figure out the LR problem with Adobe Technical Support rather than throwing the camera out with the bathwater? Open a technical support chat and have them remote into your computer. You're paying for that support. Use it.

I tried to open up my old catalogue in lightroom but could not as it says i can only open the upgrade. when i try to open up the backups of this old catalogue it crashes. i sent off this crash report to adobe and see if they can fix this for me. In the past when i needed to open an old backup their was no problem.
Thanks for your suggestion..

Try renaming your current LR LRCAT file outside LR. Then, start LR and create a new empty catalog, give it a descriptive name. Then, use file / import from another catalog and point to the most recent back-up. See what that gives you. If needed, unzip the old LRCAT file first.

If not resolved, open a technical support chat with Adobe.

Technical support chat, not call. More time efficient.
