Bergen was abandoned on the street by his owner when she moved, and roamed my daughter's neighborhood for a couple of weeks. He took a liking to my daughter and grandchildren, but they already had two cats. Our cat had passed away a couple of years earlier, so we adopted Bergen. He is a Maine Coon, at least he checks off all the characteristics of a Maine Coon, so he is mostly Maine Coon. He is a great fellow and a lean 19.5 pounds of love.

I suggest you download Bergen. Thanks for viewing. - John

Nice shot of "Bergen". By any chance, are you Norwegian?

Thank you very much, KT. No I'm German, but he is named after the town of Bergen in Norway. We took a trip to Svalbard to see Polar bears and spent a few days in Norway. A couple of days in the old part of Bergen near the waterfront. Love the town and our stay there. When we first rescued the cat and took him to a vet, he identified him as probably a Norwegian Forest Cat. Only two Norwegian words we were close to pronouncing correctly was Bergen and Oslo. Thus the name. Later through research and other vets we determined he is probably a Maine Coon.
