of Black Point Drive. Usually, when people think of Black Point they think of birds and alligators. There is so much more to see! On this morning we arrived just before sunrise so I was able to catch the sun coming up. The water was smooth as glass and the wildflowers along the drive were wet with dew. I'll get to the birds later, but I wanted to share these, some of my favorite sights, first.

At first I feared all the beautiful thistles were past their prime. The crews also spray them with herbicide because they are invasive but these just looked old.

Fortunately, I soon came across several specimens that were still fresh.

We tend to label places in our minds. The Everglades is great during the winter season to photograph animals and birds and when we go there our mind usually responds to those subjects but there are others we tend to forget because in our minds The Everglades is for shooting birds and animals.
Your shots are beautiful and different than what most probably other photographers do when visiting that place.

Very fine set! When other photographers are present, I always try to look for different photos than theirs.
