I think these are super. Perfect choice of motif and technique and very well done. The first one is especially a winner.
Thank You I appreciate it !!! I did lower the resolution on these from 300 to 150. Thanks again !!!
I think they are both very well done, Dave, keep up the good work.

These are my first attempts on using a vintage oil painting effect. The first is a shot from the Old Mill in 2014, and the second is a composite of a shot from a busy day at the Met in New York in 2016. Thought I'd share.
If you would like, please click on the picture, doing so will link you to the gallery page where the shot can be seen in higher resolution and full page. Thanks for viewing and Have A Blessed Day !!!

Yes, I thought they were both interesting.

I personally have enjoyed this discussion with honest objective critiques, well accepted by the author. Too often, this site offers "facebook likes" that are not helpful for the authors or readers. Achieving a "painterly" effect can be tricky and too often repetitive with it brush patterns. Just learning the "art" and it will take time to other than just click.

Very well said, Thank You, and I appreciate the critiques and comments. These are my first attempts with the craquelure texture and youβre very correct that learning the βartβ takes time. Thank You very much !!!
I also like the effect, its different. The texture is interesting. If you like it, that's what matters most.

You right and I do like the effect
Uncle Buck, while this is not necessarily for me, I appreciate anyone who jumps in and tries something new. How will we ever learn new techniques and methods if we don't try them? These images, especially the old mill, reminds me of a puzzle from the 1950's that was photographed with film.
