Black Bird with Red Wings

Bluebird. What else could you want? However, I'm not sure where they got the name Robin.

Most bluebirds are not all blue. They have red and white on them. Why not call them USA birds? Of course that's nationalism, since there are other countries that use red, white, and blue in their flag, so that name would not be universally accepted.

(Not to mention that the "red" is more of a rust brown).

Looks pretty blue to me.

The picture you had looks like a male Eastern Bluebird. They have a reddish breast and white around the edges. Only the wings and back and top of the head are blue. The male Mountain Bluebird is predominately blue.

The blue is pretty but the bird is not ALL blue.
