Oh yes, #2...The uncorrected Fisheye Effect changes a ho-hum photo [if corrected] into an interesting semi-abstract.

If I attach a fisheye to my camera, I never really think about correcting the distortion. If you don't want distortion, don't use a fisheye. So, I agree with you completely that uncorrected is the way to go here. It does give it a bit of an abstract feel. Thank you for your impressions. That kind of information helps me every time I go out and shoot. I think about comments from FYC members and I use those ideas, along with my own vision of what I want, to come up with something appealing.

These are impressive shots. 2 and 3 are tied for me. Both have tremendous impact.

And they are tied for me as well. A bit like eating lobster. Claws, or tails? That depends on which one I'm enjoying at the moment. Same with the photos. I look at one, and I think: "Hmmm, that is definitely my favorite". Then I look at the other and think: "Gee, this one works just as well for me". lol

Nice work, Erich. As with others, No. 2 is my favorite of the series.

Thank you. In light of the fact that most people like no. 2, I went back and viewed it on my full monitor again. Now I get it. Something about the way those clouds are arranged and that super wide view does work. I think part of it is that I was really close (without getting wet) to the bow of the ship. No other lens that I have would have gotten the whole front of the ship in the frame. Added to that is the enormous size of the ship. Anything smaller might just have faded into the fisheye background and not had the same impact. I'm really glad I grabbed that lens before heading out.

Very nice series. I particularly like your last shot. I get a sense it had seen a lot of action in its time.

Thank you for the compliment. I think you are right. This ship has many stories to tell.
