B&H is the place. I have bought new and used and have always been more than satisfied. I have been shopping since day one in 1973. Their beginning coincides with my first year in art school.

I purchased refurbished lenses from the manufacture 'Canon' and comes with a new lens purchase warranty. I figure that the refurbished lens gets a better check out that the mass produced lens.
Only my opinion and I save a few bucks too. Second hand 'used' I have no idea. Good luck no matter which way you go and enjoy the equipment you purchase.

I happily add my vote of confidence to buying used equipment from B&H. They are honest in their dealings, conservative in their ratings and easy to work with. They are one of only a few with whom I would be comfortable in buying/selling used equipment. The others are Adorama, UsedPhotoPro, and MPB.

I've never used B & H but have used www.KEH.com for 30 + years with great success. They stand behind their products, too.

Another source to check is Samy's Camera. I have had excellent dealings with them.
I bought a Canon 650D used from them for $80.00. It arrived quickly, very well packed, and a surprise, a 50mm 1.8f AF lens.
This camera was in excellent condition and when I checked it out, it had a very low shutter count.
The camera works fine with no problems.
I have also had good dealings with Adorama, B&H, and mpb.com.

B&H is excellent, as are Adorama, KEH, UPP (a division of Roberts Camera), and SAMY's in LA. I would also not hesitate to buy from Allen's in PA.

I would not buy from anywhere else. I bot a used strobe from them in perfect condx except where they had painted it to mark it as used...
