Actually, you hit the nail right on the head - here is what I went back and did. I rarely remove things from photos, but this time I did. Close, I think, to your concept.

I like the 2nd of the first 2 - the panoramic feel lends a scale to the land that I think is a bit lost in the first image.

I like it much better without the power lines. And, the horizon is now not so near the middle of the frame. Nice image.
