but it was really a plethora of buds! These cactus are part of the landscaping on the corner of Ray and Val Vista in Gilbert, AZ. There were so many buds that I thought there was a fungus growing on them. But, when I went back with my camera and long lens, it was just a myriad of buds. And, by then some of the flowers had opened and the bees were almost drunk with pollen!

Quite honestly, I don't know what kind of cactus this is. They aren't saguaro, I know that!

Thanks, Sylvia. There will be so many bees around, I wonder if we can even see the flowers!

I don't think so. Organ pipe aren't very translplantable. I've not seen their blooms, and I did a Google search and came up empty.

Thanks! I was glad to have an opportunity. But as many buds as they have, I think they'll be blooming for awhile.

That's impressive that they have so many buds up and down the length of the cactus. It's pretty now and will probably be even more so as more flowers open!

Thanks, Carol. I'm thinking they will bloom at all different times, actually. We'll see. If not, there will be an entire swarm of bees on that corner!
