Nikon is very generous in posting support documentation, available as a FREE download in PDF format, on their website.

When dealing with RAW and 24MP sensors, you have a few general rules of thumb. You can put about 1000 raw files onto a 32GB card. If you do both RAW and large JPEG to the same card, something like 500 of each, maybe 600 images.

SD cards are not intended for long-term storage. If you consider how long you might be shooting before you can offload your images to permanent storage, that gives a sense of how many and how large cards you need. I'd suggest 3 to 5 32GB cards or the same number of 64GB cards. If you get lazy about offloading your images and a card fails, that could be several days of lost images if they all were on a single 64GB card.

If you want to find out which format the camera uses, either format a fresh 16GB SDHC card in the camera or take one that you've already used in that camera and look at the "file type" of the card on any computer. It will explicitly answer your question.

LOL, seriously? I never made the presumption that it would. I simply stated the technical limits of two possible file systems, FAT32 being the most likely candidate. Any other assumptions you would like to impose on my response?

Since you asked ......

Yes. I assumed you were answering the actual question asked by the OP about his Nikon D3300.

That is what I ought to assume and that assumption *should* have been valid. Nobody gives a ratzazz for the info you schpieled that has no use to the OP nor anyone else. No one asked about the circumferences of the moons of Saturn.

Any other questions ?!?!?

Perhaps a D3300 is not as old as some seem to think. Yes, cameras will have limits as do computers. If it were a D3100 I would imagine it might have issues with a 128GB or 64GB card. As far as I know, all cameras manufacturers say to format your SD and CF cards in the camera. I know what FAT32 and exFAT32 are but don't care to mess with them today since Windows has long left FAT standards. Personally I use Sandisk 16, 32, and 64GB SD cards in my cameras depending on age and file sizes but see no point in risking more data than need be.

Then you could have simply ignored any information I provided and moved on like most of us do if something doesn't pertain to us. Instead you keep going on some self gratifying endeavor for which you probably will pat yourself on the back for. We can keep this insignificant banter going if you like, but I really grew bored of the lack of substance with it at the beginning.

Additionally, I never mentioned the circumference for the moons of Saturn. But go ahead and give a self-high five for coming up with something witty.
