Camera Reco's.
Anybody have any reco's. for a bridge camera. I don't. need a very long zoom or an expensive (around $500.00 and new). Would appreciate your knowledge............Mike

I haven't used one. But the Canon SX70 hs is in your price range. And has good ratings.
I have a Nikon p950 for sale which has a bigger zoom range. But not that cheap.

What subjects are you planning to shoot?

Mostly landscapes.
How much manual control do you think you will need? Some of my not-too-expensive bridge cameras offer only a couple of shutter speeds and others limited choice of f/stops.
Is WiFi something you will use? My Fuji bridge camera allows me to control it from a phone o tablet "app", including seeing the image, without needing a router. (I hope to get some shots of the birds that nest on my porch using it.)
Is an articulated back screen something you would find convenient?
Are you planning on using a tripod?
Thanks!

Thank you John, I do not need total control over the camera....
Yes the zs80 is one that I've considered thank you
As far as bridge cameras, Robert Kincaid used a Nikon F.

One thing I should emphasize, having a viewfinder is a boon in bright sun.
I've had good luck with a Pentax bridge and i like the articulated back screen, very easy to use ad some nice SFX, but my Fuji with the WiFi connection has a bit more "pro" feel to it. Both are a few years old and some newer models have better EVFs. But any EVF is better than none on a sunny day!

Never heard of him.
Did you mean Thomas Kincaid? He was one of the worst painters who ever used a gimmick and sold lots of crap to an unsophisticated audience.
