I find that hard to believe you use all the settings. How about the delay start function?
How about the series cooking which varies Time and power sequence?
Should I go on?
We bought a very simple GE over the range microwave to replace the one that died two years ago after 20 years. Exactly like its predecessor, it has NO delay start button or "series cooking variable time/power," but it does have:
Popcorn (3 sizes)
Beverage
Potato
Reheat
Defrost
Cook Time Set
Express Cook (Add 30 Seconds plus 1,2,3,4,5,6 minutes)
Timer
Turntable on/off
Surface Light/Night Light on/off
Surface Vent fan Hi/Lo/Off
Cancel/Off
Start/Pause
I have used every control at least several times. They are all useful and work as described in the manual. We have a similar counter top microwave in our basement bar, with the same controls. And yes, I read the manuals, because I wrote manuals as parts of my jobs, for decades.
I still remember the AMANA Radarange from the 1970s with the mechanical dial timer. When I was a radio announcer in 1978, I liked to use the one in our station canteen to heat up small quantities of peanuts. One day, I was playing a commercial in the middle of The Paul Harvey Show, when the program director walked in, carrying a plate with smoking nuts on it.
"Are these your charcoal nuggets?," he barked.
I had mistakenly set the timer for 30 minutes instead of 30 seconds! So of course, many years later, when the "Is it a good idea to microwave this?" series came out on YouTube, I HAD to watch all of them.
