Actually, it is only called Pacific Coast Hwy (PCH) in southern California, and better known as CA 1, by the time you get to the Ventura County Line it joins 101 and flip flops between 1 and 101 all the way to the Oregon border. It has numerous local names along the way.

The washout was close to Monterey in the Big Sur area. The report I saw said that it would be closed at least a year.
