Purple seems odd. I would think kind of a cool grey would be more natural.

Excellent. I love walkways like this - stone, arched supports and a ancient feel. Your composition and processing are very suited for the subject!

Thank you. I took several photos and thought that I would be bracketing the exposure; but I decided to use just one photo to come up with the final version. Thanks for taking a look.

Let’s see... he knew about the arched walkway well enough to know to get there early...hmmm... makes me think we’ve a Tiger amongst us?

Yes, we do. The one variable that was, of course, not predictable was bicycles. In the past I've arrived here only to find a gaggle of bikes that just can't be cloned out. This time.. not even one. Serendipity.

Not to brag, but I went to Princeton in the early 70’s. I attended preseason NY Giant’s game there when their stadium wasn’t available,😁There are many beautiful building on their campus. You captured this one very nicely. You were rewarded for getting up and out before sunrise.

Thank you for the compliment. We could have almost passed tracks back then. I was there a bit later, from '76-'80.

Yep, those windows make an excellent point of focus.

I think that, if those windows would not have been lit, I would have had to play around in post to give them some light. I agree with you that it is an important element of the composition.

I think this photo can be seen in two versions. The one you got up early for as we see it and another one more with a mysterious feel to it. If you take the shadows darker but still let the light in the arch ways you can get a longer deeper look with the window at the end wondering what is beyond. One might think of it as having a mysterious leading line effect.
Just a thought.🤔
Jim

... and a good thought. I think I'll play around with it a bit. If something cool comes of it, I'll post it. Thanks for the idea.

You did a great job taking this photo. I am also an admirer of walkways like this. The lights at the end did contribute greatly to the impact of the photograph. Well done.

Dennis

Thanks, Dennis. I love it when the light and the composition come together like this. Thanks for the compliment.

Thank you. I think it does look good big. 2.25 square negatives really do have a lot of resolution. I only have one lens for the Hasselblad; but it is a Zeiss. That helps also.

That could be an effect of the film. I'll go back and look at it again. Might make some color adjustments. Sharp eye. Thanks for keeping me on my toes.
