This is the only forum I participate in and I am totally against companies like Facebook and similar so do not use them. I have seen them used for harassing people and bullying kids more than anything good.

You need to see an image in it's correct context to judge and/or understand it. This is the reason I didn't want to put it up.
What I mean by this, my brief I gave myself was human evolution past, present and future. It was also intended to be in the form of modern art. The image was taken on film, no trickery available, one image, straight out of the camera and it was taken 20-25 years ago. The image cannot be compared to digital photography of today, how such a brief may be fulfilled with modern methods. I think this is what will happen so viewing the image in the correct context in 2021 may be lost. If I was asked to show it in 1998, I think people would've looked at it differently than they will today. I'll post it anyhow.

Now, I have a question, how did you know my name? No big deal, just wasn't aware it was viewable or that I mentioned it anywhere on this forum.

I am curious also about how Schoe knew your first name. If he knows your first name, does he also know your last name? I looked at your posts and did not see where you had identified yourself. I doubt if he knows you personally since he is located in Europe. What is somewhat bothersome to me is the attitude of "I know who you are, but you don't know who I am" A far better response to your question about how he knew your first name instead of responding that he was just messing with you, would have been simply to have told how he did know your first name. I have thought that an interesting thread would be to ask how people chose their "names" for the UglyHedgeHog. Some are pretty straight forward, their name and location, e.g "JohnJonesCozadNB (I made that up) to much more esoteric. Mine is an anagram of my name. I could have used "Mona Dore" but didn't.

I have a number of images that I’m very proud of, but there is one that I consider very special. It has taken awards and every competition I have entered it in, including the judges choice award in a national competition.

When I took the image it required that I sit and wait for about 25 minutes for the sun to drop down into the position I wanted. I knew ahead of time that the image was going to require two exposures, one for the foreground and one for the sky. Those images would later be blended to give the final result.

Jim .. I so liked this image and the work behind it ...

He did a little general searching. I use this username in different places. I attach my first name and country to some of those places. I was curious if he was a member at other places I was. He won't know my last name or anything else. The info available on myself and any other person is only what I or others have put out there.

Regarding the attitude, I have no comment to make.

Start a thread and ask it! Post a link in this thread so we don't miss it. It's a good idea.

Mark and RodeoMan, there is no ‘attitude’. I thought that I saw on an earlier post by Wide2tele a link, perhaps in his signature, to a page with other pics. I was sure I had had a look and thought they were pretty darn good images. So I assume Wide2tele is actually a pretty good photographer. When I last logged on I wanted to have another look at these really good images. I discovered there was no link in his signature so was not sure if I made a mistake or was looking at some else’s images or what. So I did a search on his username to see if I could find the images that I was thinking were linked to him. In the end I did not find what I am sure I saw a few days ago. So either they are not his images or else my search did not find his display page.

Anyway in the course of doing that search I quite easily discovered his name and country.
I saw how the discussion on this thread was going regarding him not posting his fabulous image and felt a little guilty that I might have prompted people to pressure him when I said in an earlier post that I was saddened by the decision not to post his best image. I really thought people in this sort of forum should get to see it and would of course understand the context given by the person who took the image.
So that is why I posted the message to say if not comfortable please don’t post.

If you did have a link a few days ago and I am not imagining it, can you please provide it again because there were very good images at that link.

Cheers

Don't stress, it's all good. This is a good photography forum and I've been through 6 or 7 photography forums trying to find one that I'll stick with! I might appear at those forums and there are also others out there using this same username. The images are not mine that you found. I have 2 pics here in the film forum and one other on another site that's it. I'm intending on sticking with UHH, might've finally found the right place. I'll post more in the future. You can see my other 2 pics on the link below.

Thanks, appreciated. Yeah, that's probably my fav infrared. The other pic isn't a great scan but I put it up just to add another film shot to hopefully get the film forum kicking along. I added a digital pic below.
Anyhow, appreciate anyone else looking but don't want to drag this thread off topic. I'll post any future pics in the Photo Gallery forum.

Which of my photographs is my favorite? The couple I'll keep from the thousand I'll shoot on my digital tomorrow.

I have to agree. I mainly shoot wildlife and at 7-10 frames a second and 4 hours dancing with Mother Nature, I regularly return with 400-800 shots. Sad to see how one person's shooting style brings out a personal condemnation and character assassination by other UH ers "look in the mirror." No shortage of assholes in America.
