Incredible talent. I presume you are in possession of his album with George Shearing. It is one of my favorites.

I had the opportunity to see his daughter, Natalie, live about 15 years ago. She was also great and more of a jazz singer than I realized.

Yes, I do have that one, but it is mp3.
Natalie had a fabulous voice. Their duet of "Unforgettable" is superb!

Thanks,
Mark

Excellent! When he learned that he was going to die, he recorded several songs to be released after his death to provide income for his family.

Interesting. He was and still is one of my favorite male vocalists.

Thanks, Jerry.

Very talented singer who we lost way too soon. We’re he still alive and in his later years of life he would command the same respect as Tony Bennett gets today, hands down.

I think you are correct. Too bad he is not alive and had a sustained life.

Our family knew the Cole family. My father was a lyricist in the 1950's and wrote the ballad, "My Brother" for Nat King Cole while we still live in New York. When we moved to Los Angeles, we visited them at their Hancock Park home...we lived in the same, but somewhat lower rent area. My brother and Cookie attended Los Angeles High School together. I'm about 4 years younger, but I do remember her and Natalie. My dad's song still survives on a CD compilation called "Lush Life." My favorite Nat King Cole song is a duet, the one he sang with Stubby Kaye, "The Ballad of Cat Ballou," from the 1960's movie.

It's good that you said it and I'll say it. The guy was terrific and a huge draw in LAS where he always had to enter from the back door. Sinatra was consistently pissed off with the way black entertainers were treated by the casinos.

I agree and 8 million views of this one song proves others agree.
