Back in the day, I lived three blocks away from Fillmore East, a ticket, a set of Pro Nikon gear and Nikon bag usually got me into the Pit. Famous, Loud, I suspect my hearing issues go all the way back to that day. Ears would ring for days. Somewhere there are still negatives. Names - long gone.
Any Allman Brothers pictures? Would love to see those. They are dozens posted daily on their many different fb pages.
Thanks, much of my success was from being there at the right time.
David Kennerly is a very special person. He never forgot his friends from his early years as a news photographer in Portland, Oregon. I remember him inviting David Falconer who was one of the best news photographers in the business to the White House when Falconer was Chief Photographer on the Oregonian.
Kennerly was a speaker at a series of workshops in the Seattle area a few years back. I took his book with me and asked him to autograph it for David Falconer which he very kindly did.
David Falconer was one of my best friends for 50 years. David Falconer was on the Oregonian staff for 25 years, then went freelancing for another 25.

Very helpful to use the "Quote Reply" option so we know which post you're addressing.
And yeah, right place at the right time (and being ready) is a lot of it!
If one is paying attention, that happens more often.

Thank you, I appreciate the tip.
I was a Rock Photographer in the 70's so you can just choose. Bruce Springsteen, Heart, Queen, Boston, The Who, Rolling Stones, George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Joni Mitchell, etc. I also did studio shots of Rodger McGuinn and Gene Clark from the Byrds when they got back together and needed a promo shot, and a studio cover shot for Circus Magazine of Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood.
