Nice set. The last one is an example of cooperative feeding behavior. The birds heard fish into a tight group and then scoop them up.

Migrating birds have patterns that are interesting. On last Thursday I found the Red Winged Blackbirds usually found in great numbers at Farmington Bay had moved to Bear River. When I got to Farmington Bay, the pelicans had arrived. I am not a pelican expert, but the attached photos show who attended the fly in.

As always, downloads are best.

Great set, Mike, I like this buffet meeting!

The Great Salt Lake is adjacent to Farmington Bay but the marshes produce carp, etc. I guess the pelicans take what they can get.

Thanks Jack. Most of my pelican shots are on Hilton Head Island, so I had not seen this type of cooperative behavior before.

Thanks, Eugene, it was new to me, but evidently common here.

For some reason he was alone on the main water body, but in a great pose. Thanks for looking, Sylvia.
