I guess you are right as usual.

I don't understand why people object to having video capabilities. It has been pointed out repeatedly that it adds very little to the cost of the camera. I'll bet the people who have this objection have other features on their cameras which they never use and never plan to use. Why not object to anything you don't use?

I wonder why they don't focus on one or the other. I never use video, and some probably never use still. Perhaps if manufacturers concentrated on one of the two functions they could develop better products. I appreciate any input you may offer.

How many still features do you or anyone use?
The still combinations, from looking at the menus, are nearly infinite let alone the video features.
All are software related.
I, for one, love the options and explore them at times including the limited video on my 7D. PS, still explore my 10D and still find new things on it and it has NO video.

You're so right about the other features in cameras.

I don't use Blue Tooth in my computer, but it's there (Why?).

Big deal... I just ignore it.

You're stretching it here, aren't you?

Why is it cheaper to buy coffee beans that ground coffee?

When they make video equipment do they put as much into allowing still photos as they do in a dslr to take video?

I don't necessarily object to cameras having video capability. I didn't realize so many use it. I thought that most would like one capability or the other, but not both. Apparently I was wrong.

Some my wonder why Canon bothers to put still shots on a good video camera.

I don't think you're wrong. There are plenty of us who think video on a dslr does nothing but increase the cost as we never use the video portion. It's easier to capture video using your iPhone.

A 16MP camera with no video costs $1000 more than a 24MP DSLR with both still and video capabilities. It seems making something the public doesn't want is more expensive ...

What do you think GPS and wifi are? And what do they have to do with still photography? Ansel Adams didn't need these features. That pretty much says their superfluous to cameras, probably adding weight, cost, and reliability issues, if Ansil Adams didn't need them.

So where can I get a camera with an AM-FM radio Mr.

Why do cars have radios? Those contribute nothing to the speed nor gas mileage nor load capacity of the vehicle.

Why do cars have turn signals? I don’t see many drivers using them. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Video only requires some extra software, so it does add very little to the cost of a camera. Do you use every other feature that your camera has?

Developing and implementing 4k/8k costs $$$ to implement.

Do you think there is an over abundance of bells and whistles in today's cameras?
