Great shot! Are those the Collings Foundation aircraft?
That’s a beauty in download !!
Excellent photo! The dramatic loud cover really adds to the overall photo.
Great shot of that great warbird. This aircraft must be the war hero of war heros. The bomb paint says this bird flew 130 combat bombing missions and survived them all. I can't imagine flying so many missions without being shot down or a mechanical issue taking her out. What an incredible achievement.
Nicely done, great photo, Rob.
18,500 produced. More numerous that the B-17. Holds the record for number manufactured. And how many remain today?
Beautiful photograph!
I really like the angle!
My Dad was a navigator on a B-24 where the navigator sits behind the nose gunner.
On one mission, a flak blast blew out all of the glass around the nose gunner and my Dad crawled into the nose gunner's compartment (in flight at over 200 MPH) to drag the nose gunner to safety, further back in the plane. They both lived to tell about it. All of my Dad's navigation maps and logs were blown all over inside the plane. Their pilot was able to get the plane safely back to their base in Grottaglia, Italy with the nose of the aircraft wide open while some of the aircraft control surfaces that were damaged by flak were not operational.

I like the way you set the angle of the shot of the B-24 and managed to have the B-25 in focus. BTW, that bomber, Witchcraft, was at Van Nuys Airport a few times along with the B-17, Nine O Nine which, unfortunately, crashed a few years later.
