Technically good photos - but the tiger in each one looks totally bored - very sad.

John, The Detroit Zoo was on my summer travel list but the Covid issue in Michigan ended the trip. HOPEFULLY, your officials will allow things to be open this summer - The Dream Cruise and the Zoo.

Thank you very much, Delderby. Your partially correct in the assessment of zoo animals. That is an issue with predator animals in captivity, but not with prey animals who just need grass. Predators have a more mentally and physically complex life. Good zoos, and ours is one, work hard to have enrichment activity for them both in the design of the habitat and activities that tap into their natural behavior. But you can't totally duplicate the wild. For captive cats, these guys have extremely good with about 1.3 acres of treed and open uneven land, a flowing stream, waterfall and pond. Amur tigers like water. But still it's a challenge. Don't equate the facial expression with a humans. Cats have a downturned mouth that makes them look rather sad all the time.
