There will always be someone who will be dissatisfied with repairs from a company. I have the Tamron 18-400 and had a problem with it a year after it was bought. Contacted Tamron and they sent me a prepaid mailing label. The lens was fixed(under warranty). Had no problem ever since. They stand by their products.

I have a Tamron 18-400mm F/3.5-6.3 lens and the zoom is stuck around 18mm . I wanting to get it repaired. But the Tamron Co. repair has some real bad reviews on line. Does anyone have any experience, advice, or recommendations on Tamron lens repair. Anything
would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I’ve had three Tamron lenses that still work perfectly and would have no problem with submitting any of them to Tamron repair. But would probably hesitate with the oldest 18-200 (out of warranty). Still available at $200 brand new.

Tamron has 6 years warranties on their goods. I send in my lenses once a year for cleaning and adjustments if needed. Never had any trouble with their service. If your item is still under warranty send it in what have you got to lose, nothing. If you don't know you can check on their web site with the serial number on your equipment.

Tamron lenses should only be repaired by Tamron themselves. They aren't that expensive and their technicians are well trained. Besides, Tamron does not sell parts which makes it almost impossible for an independent repair tech to fix their products.

Still have a 1st. generation 150-600. 5 weeks before warranty expired, sent it in due to slight focus sliding. No hassel what so ever; returned two weeks later, still working great after almost 2 years.

Likely the bad reviews are by Canon and Nikon service. Just kidding. Tamron Service is the best I have ever experienced. Send it in and they will have it bad in a week in FedEx is working normally, but they aren't it seems.

I have a new Tamron 150-600 G2, and part of lens is fine tuning to your camera. You send your camera and lens in and they fine tune it once. There is a docking station you can buy so you can do it but I would let them do it.
Anyone have experience with this process?

Yes, I have the same lens and a D810. Sent on a Friday and received it back the following Friday. This was before the Chinese virus attack. I also have the Tapin unit and did okay on tuning, but they did much better. First class packing of the camera and lens on return. They pay return shipping. Your homeowners may cover the insurance. Mine does. Great service.

I don't know if it's off or not. I'll practice more and evaluate it. any hint what I should do$ rather not use my free tune up if I don't need to.

I had an 18-270mm (Nikon mount) that failed close to the end of the warranty period. I sent it to Tamron and was told by then the damage was caused by "shock". Never happened, and there wasn't a scratch on it. I wound up giving it to my local (excellent) camera repair shop for parts. I never purchased another Tamron lens and still would have a hard time doing so now. I certainly cannot recommend them!
