Boarder restrictions for US nationals entering Canada have been eased, but non-essential travel is still prohibited.
Starting July 5, fully vaccinated U.S. citizens and other foreign nationals will be granted access to Canada depending on their purpose of travel. Foreign nationals will only be allowed into Canada for essential reasons, such as travelling for a funeral or attending school.
Otherwise, Canada’s borders remain closed to U.S. citizens and other international travelers until at least July 21. This means that any U.S. citizens hoping to head north of the border as a tourist will be denied entry.
The government of Canada announced a tentative boarder opening with the US for mid August. Tourists must be fully vaccinated. Further details are expected next week (July 18-24).
