Huh, versions aren’t sharing metadata so not sure what’s happening to you.

I'm using the latest version of On1. I know what's happening -- the software contains a design flaw that, as a parametric editor, they should correct. LR doesn't have that problem.

Not to be argumentative in any way, what is the design flaw that you reference?
I am always learning.

I have been using ON1 for maybe 6-7 years now - migrated from LR and PS. I find ON1 to be robust and easier to set up a workflow to use combinations of effects and almost endless options with sliders, blending, opacity etc. Also, ON1 has a plethora of videos (particularly if you join the Plus support function) that make it very easy to learn the software or refresh your memory. Only problems I've run into are in the printing area - I had that all figured out working smoothly. Now I've upgraded my computer to Apple mac mini M1 and the printing has "gone squirrely" again (likely due to ON1 not having adjusted to M1 operating mode and Rosetta interpretation not perfect yet ?). Strongly recommend a trial period and to go through the videos to get up to speed.

I use On1 Effects 2019 and really love it. I use it for creative frames quite often.

Is anyone using ON1 photo software and if so what are your thoughts.

Not knocking PS or LR, because I have used them both for many years. I got rid of both because of several reasons. First, I don't need all the things that PS has to offer. It is really good if you do a lot of "Design Work". From PS came PSE, which I still have (Version 11) and still use. PSE is a derivative of PS directed towards the photographer, and it has all the tools and bells and whistles most people need.

ON1 is made "For The Photographer" mainly. I love it. You can navigate to "Any Photo" on your computer, and work on this photo without "Importing It Into ON1". The photo stays were it is located.

There are many reasons I got ON1, and use it about 90% of the time. If I need any more...I use PSE or Affinity Photo (Which is a full blown program..."Much Like PS")

Like others here, I suggest you try ON1's free trial, and watch a few YouTube videos, and make your own decision.

One more thing about ON1, (Unlike Adobe) there response time to your requests is "RAPID"!!!

An the "PRICE IS RIGHT"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,
Boone.

I personally use LR Classic and am very happy with it. I do real estate photography and it satisfies all my needs. Recently I had to learn Luminar4, Affinity, Topaz Denoise, PRGui and Photomatix. I can't take another learning curve with ON1. www.genemoretti.com
