On1 -- I give it a thumbs up. It's a very capable parametric raw editor. I can't speak to it's file management capabilities as I haven't looked into that aspect of it.

One problem I noted that I consider moderately irritating is that it collects all your cloning/erasure jobs into a single item such that if you for example did 5 different clone/erase operations on an image and decided later you'd like to undo one of those you'll have to undo them all and then re-do the ones you want to keep.

Some time ago I bought ON-1 resize for the gally wrap function... Yes, I could have done it in PSE, but it was work... once the parameters [sizes] were set up then the ON-1 function was a click and done automatically. I mount my photos on cut-to-size floor laminate since it does not warp. The mounted photos are held 3/4" off the wall with 3/4" blocks from eBay.

I bought ON-1's 4 programs 40% off programs on 2/16 [sorry last day] and some augment packs total cost under $80. Well, new programs stimulate getting back to doing some editing.

ON-1 has a great reputation.

I have used ON1 exclusively for several years now. When I was using LR, I would have to go to PS most of the time to get the effect that I wanted. So now I had the original file plus the PS file. With ON1 everything is in one program and I have just the non-destructive RAW file left that I can re-edit anytime that I want.

ON1 is my software of choice. My post processing needs are limited, but ON1 does it all.

I have been using ON1 for several years. I can do almost everything I want in it, but have kept an Adobe subscription since I find that, on some occasions, I get better results with panoramas in PS.
As Ysarex notes, while you can now undo ALL of your retouches (e.g. removing sensor noise spots) in one shot, you can not remove each one individually (as far as I have found so far).
I have been using PS since CS4 and still find using layers in PS a pain. ON1 simplified the process considerably, IMO and has been designed for photographers by photographers. PS and Illustrator are still aimed more towards professionals.
Try it for 30 days, you will like it, I am sure.

In addition to the positive experiences recounted above and in other discussions, ON1’s support is prompt and excellent.

Just got the new update 2021.1 yesterday. They just keep updating it and improving it, One thing that I would like to see added is the ability to scan a picture directly into ON1.

I switched from Lightroom a couple of years ago and it was well worth the steep learning curve. ON1 simply a great program and gets better with every upgrade.

I tried ON1 Photo Raw first in 2018 and have updated each year since. For the most part, I’ve been satisfied. However, there are times when I find it easier just to bring the image into LR5.7 or Adobe PSE for simple fixes. The interface is fairly good, but I don’t find it as intuitive as I would like. It is resource intensive so make sure you have at least 16gig of memory and a minimum of 4gb graphics card. ON1 lists minimum and recommended hw requirements at their website. I have also had issues exporting images, mainly excessive noise, which required a reinstall to fix. My biggest beef is their lens profiles, all of which are gotten from a third party. Even tho the list is robust, many common lenses are missing. I bitch but I use. That’s my bottom line. Definitely try before you buy! And be patient, since it goes on sale a few times a year. Lastly, Their updates aren’t happening quite as often as in the past. Partly due to the sw becoming more mature but also because they are broadening to other platforms like tablets, cloud storage, and yes, subscription models. Incidentally, annual updates are $80 and if you add their “plus” service for $40 and any other options like courses or other products, its only advantage is features (assuming you are happy with the user interface). So.... as said before, try before you buy.

Scott Davenport's ON1 book is an excellent resource. You can also engage him for online training sessions, which IMHO, is well worth the money. He's excellent to work with and can really flatten the learning curve.

Huh, versions aren’t sharing metadata so not sure what’s happening to you.

I’ve been using it since I moved off the Adobe softwares when they went to SaaS pricing. I love it for a number reasons. The first is I don’t have to use a database or catalog. That’s what screws up most data management systems. With on1 I can just put my images in the folders on my computer and I can browse against them inside that file folder structure. It has a very capable raw processor. It has a great workflow and GUI so I don’t have to relearn how to use it every time. It’s fast. And has great support. The only downside is they haven’t updated some of the peripheral functions like HDR, Denoise and Resize in quite a while. As a result I had to purchase topaz Denoise and Sharpen and I do my HDR and focus stacking inside affinity software. I’m hoping they’re going to update these functions soon. If you’re looking to move away from the LightRoom/ Photoshop world, On1 is a really good place to start and I would suggest you go get a trial.
