Very nice! Far better than I have ever been able to get - these birds are very skittish!

Thank you, Steve. They are skittish but they make their presence known-usually as they race by!

Well done Carol! She gave you the gift of a photomoment. I'm convinced they are solely in charge of those moments and you were ready and able. I'm happy for you!

Thank you, Phil! I know you’re right. We are just able to get what nature and her critters are willing to give.

Those are great shots of a Kingfisher. They outfox me all the time.

Thank you! I hope to get another chance some day!

In the past I've lamented my failure to get a half way decent picture of a Kingfisher. When I am in their territory they just mock me! These shots aren't great by any means. They were shot from a car window hand holding the D850 with the 200-500, which is almost more camera than I can heft. This fellow was sitting atop a Mangrove making a lot of noise. I think I can safely say these are my best Kingfisher shots to date!

Great shots! These fast, erratic flying little guys are hard to capture perched or flying! Also we must work with the environment given to us when we trip the shutter! You did well considering. Thanx for sharing.

Thank you for the encouragement. I have decided to be pleased with these. I’ll keep trying for better but these are good for now.

Isn't that what we do, at least those posting here-work to improve! These are good shots-yes some might wish to rework them but they are how you saw them in the wild!
