I agree. Also there is no way they can do a proper evaluation in a few days...and that is not even their goal. Their goal mostly is to put out "click bait" to bolster their YouTube channel.
I do find them entertaining and at times Tony puts out useful information.
They can be entertaining, and Tony definitely is in his stride when he nerds out on the technical side.
Reviewing new gear isn't their strong suit...never was.
TN video about the A1 was based on specs alone. I don't think he even saw an A1 in real life yet. Because he based his opinions on specs he doesn't know any more than us.

You didn't watch his video.

What do you know about first hand of the A1 that you also disparage the initial testers of that Camera..
Unless
you can provide an equivalent personal first hand review of that Camera then you also lack credibility to call initial reviews from TN as unreliable..
Help yourself to belief in Tony, I care not either way.
But Tony doesn't have a good track record on reviews. He posts click bait to make big money and then turns around and is the first to buy the very gear he has disparaged, often changing his review after spending more than a short time with the gear. Tony did that with Canon's first fullframe mirrorless release. He slammed it with a "first out" quick review while on the Canon-paid for reviewers trip in Hawaii. Then turned around and changed and bought the camera.
Again Tony and Chelsea slammed the overheating of the Canon R5, then Chelsea bought the R5, professed her love of it and dumped her Sony. That gets you to click again and Tony and Chelsea make even more money. Tony still uses the A7RIV. Watch him buy the A1 right away and come back and say different things after having it for awhile. You will click on that one too, and Tony will make money again. lol
Again I trust better professionals like Gerald Undone, Dustin Abbott, Jason Vong, Dan Watson. I will wait for their professional reviews. They all have the camera now but they aren't rushing out to be the first with click bait on it. Those others take the time to fully test and get it right ,and they don't go flip-flopping afterwards. Tony knows if he is out with a bad review, all anti-Sony fans will eat it up, and he makes more money to buy that very camera. Help yourself, but Tony's past record speaks for itself. Professional shooters who will be buying this camera the most don't consider Tony's opinions at all.
Cheers

If you have idle time and watch TV checking out the Northrups is still better than tuning in on the Kardashians.

I watched the earlier video but I just watched his newer video last night. He did have a sample of the camera.

Getting back to the Sony A1, I thought about getting it, then not getting it and now I am again thinking about getting it. I think I am just over thinking it.

Hang in there. I am getting it as you all know. Not for everyone, but is for sure for me. Cheers

Good objective critique of TN. OTOH there’s also the obvious subjective review ... “smarmy”.

I happen to despise online videos as an info delivery medium. I’m happier with text plus illustrations. Sometimes I am forced to tolerate some particular video, if it’s the only source I can find for some needed info. Given that, TN is waaaaaay too low on actual info and waaaaaay too intolerable as video to be of any use for me. My first few encounters were more than enough ... more than too much :-(
Well just as I predicted, the new reviews out today from real photographers and testers show that the A1 lives up to its specs and performance. From Gerald Undone to Jason Vong and Dan Watson have come overwhelming praise and accolades, with the largest complaints is that some find the camera body too small for their liking, and find the rear screen should have better specs for a camera this price.
I agree the rear screen should be much better at this price. I am a big guy with large hands and I have gotten used to the size of Sony bodies, and often use them with a battery grip which gives more body to hold when using big long lenses. I find I can easily use my A7RIV and A9 with my Sony 200-600mm lens, handheld, with or without using the optional battery grip when I need to save some weight.
Gerald Undone concentrated on Video specs and found he got 1hr 20 min of 8k before overheat warning (Sony had said 30 minutes in 8K conservatively) , and with a dummy battery Gerald got over three hours of recording before overheat warning .
Sorry Tony Northrup you are debunked in your click-bait "review'. And recovery time is outstanding ,unlike the Canon R5 according to Gerald Undone. Gerald says it is basically an A7SIII in video but with 8K and better noise at some ISOs, and a bit better skin tones than the A7SIII, and with S-Cinetone.
Here in one place are links to a few of the new reviews with everyone saying they have more to come:
Full disclosure, I have one on pre-order and can't wait . Cheers
