Consumer Reports just rated printers. If you do not need color, go Brother laser.

If you need color, ping me off list and I'll see what they recomend.

Good. FWIW, I've had two Brother laser printers over the years with no problems.

I have a Samsung 2070 laser that prints only B&W. Wireless and scans too.

Hello Mark-I hope all is well. I have had 3 canons and 1 Epson. I had to trash them all for using 3rd. party inks. (I didn't learn after the first Canon)
I now have a Brother MFC-J985DW for 3 years using 3rd. party inks with no problems. Only neg I can give is it's speed, or lack of. Good luck in your hunt.

Thank you all for the many suggestions and valuable information. I watched a video on how to bathe the print head. It did not look too difficult. I’m trying to muster the courage to do that. The printer does not seem to have mechanical issues. Might be worth a try. If I’m successful I’ll post the results. If not, I’ll buy a new one keeping the wonderful suggestions in mind.

Thanks for all the feedback!

Just keep your fingers away from any of the printed circuits and you'll do fine. I used to clean the printhead on my 9 year old HP and I think that's what kept it running so well for so long.

Consumer Reports recommended a Cannon ink jet as being economical, saving on the cost of ink. It is similar to the G3260.

I feel the Brother machines are very reliable and give you the most bang for your buck. We used a lot of them where I used to work and since replacing an Epson with one, I've had zero problems printing. It even does a decent job printing photos though perhaps not as well as Canon or the HP Envy line which is geared somewhat for photographs.

Brother laser printers. Absolutely!

There a counter on my Epson ET-4700 and I did the math and my printer has paid for itself several times over without any problems.
About every 1K pages, you have to clean/align the heads and that process is menu-driven and that takes just a few minutes.
I am so happy not to have to buy carts anymore and have them fail in the middle of a job, or troubleshoot the printer when it doesn't recognize a new cart . . . and on and on!
I believe that now there other manufactures of tank printers out there now, but I am happy with my Epson. It just makes me . . .

That looks very similar to the ET-2760. I bet (hope) they use the same ink.

No - different ink, 522 vs 502. What happened to standardization? When I was younger, all Fords used the same filter, a big #1. Then they started using different filters for different engines.

I decided to purchase Canon PIXMA TS6320 Wireless Inkjet All-in-One Printer. It's not too expensive and I feel it will serve my infrequent printing needs. I has good ratings via Consumer Reports. I ordered it from B & H via Payboo to save sales tax. Delivery this coming Tuesday.

Stay safe. Thanks for all the suggestions and feedback.
