Sounds Great and thanks for the info
We plan to go clockwise, but I’m preparing for mostly overcast skies.
Thanks again

Anyone been there in September
Just wondering what to except for photography
Was there 4 yrs ago for the 1st - 2 weeks in January - What an experience
I have a D810 w/ a 14-24 - along with the big & little stopper 150x150 Lee filters.
Also bought a 150x170 Lee soft grad.
Along with all my other lenses and the 100 Lee system for those lenses, I’m just not sure what to expect
Any suggestions.
Thanks
Don

We are also going there the very end of September...doing Iceland's west coast and then on to East Greenland with Lindblad Expeditions on a National Geographic boat. We are really hoping to see the northern lights too...nice to hear that many of you who were there in September got to experience them. I'm enjoying everyone's comments!

For a prediction of the location and strength of the Northern Lights, U of Alaska’s Geophysical Institute’s “Aurora Forecast” was pretty spot on. They provide 27-day day-by-day forecast for all regions of the world so this can help for planning when to go. March-April and Sept-Oct are considered the best months. Check it out at: https://www.gi.alaska.edu/monitors/aurora-forecast

Note the KP Index for an indication of how active the lights will be -- range is from 1 (calm) to 9 (major). Iceland falls within the normal ring of Northern Lights with viewing stretching to countries north and south depending on the strength indicated by the KP Index. KP 4 indicates a pretty active show in Iceland.

Current rules require all travelers arriving in Iceland from Covid-19 risk areas to undergo 14 days of quarantine or take two Covid-19 screenings tests, separated by five days' quarantine until the results of the second test are known.
