From Pencil Sketch. Too much white space?
IMHO yes there is. But I think you are onto something that could be special here.

Thanks Don they are fun and easy to make and then you take them to NIK and/or Topaz Studio 2 and the sky's the limit.
Just not enough grey tones IMHO

Thanks for looking and commenting. It had a subtle gold tone to it on my monitor which didn't come across on the download
Modified image a much better effort, IMHO. First one may have benefitted from a judicious crop. Nice stuff and thanks for sharing your tools!

Thanks Tommy. I can spend a whole afternoon just playing with different combinations. Most are junk but once in a while

Not really...perhaps crop a bit tighter.
The gold tone came through in the second post very well. Jack.

Probably. Maybe a bit of cropping would improve it but the sketch effect is very nice. It reminded me of a sample from a print paper swatch I received this week - maybe another option would be to add a little selective colour..
Love the bird Jack but find the background distracting, Maybe a closer crop and a plain white/off white background which would not distract from the bird and its perch...

I was going to comment on the first one having the bird coming up to light for me. I much prefer this second shot.
A bit too much. With an appropriate crop this would be an interesting image.

I've played with sketches some and really like them. But I have found them difficult and really tedious to do. Would you share your steps and process in achieving them?
I find yours to be really nice with just the right amount of line. If the amount of white bothers you, you can always crop the image.
