Beautiful captures. #1 is very sharp. Can you sharpen #3?

I like number one for the sharpness of the eye. All are great. I’m sure you’re pleased with the new lens.

Jeff, you are right #3 is the softest. It is cropped to 25% of original frame and was at 560mm. I'm thinking I have pushed the limit of the lens. In #3 the bird is twice as far away from me compared to #1. But I went back and applied more sharpening and it does improve but not to the level of shot #1. Thanks for the push!

#1 is my favorite for technical purity and #3 for showing something I've never seen before. I think the lens teleconverter combo allowed me to get that third shot that otherwise would have been too far away. That third shot is cropped to 25% of original.

Went out with new lens (Olympus 100-400) and 1.4 teleconverter to get a feel for the equipment and ended up capturing the following. Never seen a gull fishing before.

By the way the bird didn't get to keep the catch. S/he was immediately harassed by other gulls and dropped the fish.

Great set! Appears that the lens/camera combo is a feeder! Thanx for sharing.

Yes I am definitely happy with the combo. It allows me to travel light (on bicycle or foot) and still have great reach.

Thanks to all for you comments. This is my first post and it's encouraging to get feedback.
