Agreed. As is, the photo is extremely unnatural to anyone who knows anything about horses.
Maybe a horseshoe crab instead?

I agree; maybe use your front lawn.

Your idea of the composite is OK. But as a horse lover, I would ask you to please not make the horse eat sand. If you can, add a bit of weed or grass or something he actually should be nibbling on. Please?

Thanks for your insightful comments - but as the saying goes " you can take the horse to the beach but you can't make it eat sand " - they are not that daft.

Nor sure what the point is with the composite. The horse is beautiful in its own right, so why not photograph it in its own natural setting. There are areas where horses range on coastal or lake beaches. While this image is technically well done, the horse appears positioned to graze on sand. Just my personal view. Frank

Good of the horse, nice background, but makes horse lovers shudder at the thought of a horse eating sand. Sand colic kills a lot of horses. Of course we know it's not real, but anyway, the horse needs a shadow underneath it so it won't float above the sand.

Agree completely. As a lifelong horselover and owner this image is just cringeworthy.
