Nice scene but a bit artificial (as intended); basically it looks like the horse is floating above the sand. Good effort!

This almost looks like one of the wild horses that run in a wildlife reserve on the northern reach of the Outer Banks in North Carolina. I like your choice of backgrounds.

Your idea of the composite is OK. But as a horse lover, I would ask you to please not make the horse eat sand. If you can, add a bit of weed or grass or something he actually should be nibbling on. Please?

Thanks Julian - I noticed that afterwards but didn't bother changing as still early on the learning curve with composites.

That is where I took it from - but just liked the idea of using the sand and sky background.

Thanks Bob - i thought it allowed the true beauty of the horse to be prominent.

Agreed. As is, the photo is extremely unnatural to anyone who knows anything about horses.
Maybe a horseshoe crab instead?
