I've seen some references to "Outdoor Photography" and others to "Outdoor Photographer," two different magazines. I continue to subscribe to, and continue to receive printed copies of, "Outdoor Photographer," although I share others concerns that it get thinner each month. In my opinion, expecting up to the moment news regarding new equipment in a printed magazine is bound to disappoint you. That's why we all rely on the internet for such information. However, I do find their less time sensitive articles about the environment and advice on image capturing and processing to be well worth the meager subscription cost.

I liked photo magazines but when Modern Photography and National Geo Traveler folded I stopped my subscriptions, In the hopes Outdoor Photography would give me some comfort I subscribed for two years in early 2019. Too many ads ... and not worth continuing when my subscription ends. Follow natgeo on Instagram and look for explanatory articles online. Not a sermon just a thought.

At one time I subscribed to this magazine, but a couple of years ago I dropped it. On January 2, I got an offer to get a two year subscription for $14.97, but the offer expired on January 2. Guess I won’t be subscribing.

I had just renewed my subscription during the begining of the CoVid situation. I then went a few months after receiving one issue without getting any. I called and they said I should have gotten a notice that they went online and I could read it there. I let them know that I did not get that info and she checked and said they would extend my prescription for I believe 3-4 months and I have been getting hard copies ever since.
Outdoor Photographer has returned to print. I received the December 2020 print edition a couple of weeks ago. I find the reviews of new equipment very informative.

I finally gave up my subscription to Outdoor Photographer which, in my opinion, should be more accurately be labeled, "Outdoor Professional Photographer." It seemed they never reviewed a piece of equipment costing less than two thousand dollars and their features always appeared to focus on photographers on safari in Africa or finding a hidden valley in New Zealand. Little of value to us "backyard enthusiasts."
I was about to post something similar.
"We're going to test these four cameras.
This one is $600, this is $800, thos is $850, and this one is $2500- for the body.
Testing explained. Results verry similar
and the surprise winner is .... the $2500 one"

I got an email telling me they were no longer doing paper magazines, only digital. Last week I saw that my credit card was charged without me renewing. I called and they took the charge off. Not going to pay $32 for a digital magazine.

Outdoor Photographer Magazine Subscription Offers
We're sorry, but print subscriptions to Outdoor Photographer are currently unavailable for purchase.
I get Outdoor Photographer for free through my local library. All you have to do is have a library card, and they are free. Through my library, I have a Libby app on my ipad and can check the magazine out for 21 days. Might check with your local library to see if they offer this.
I subscribe to the Kindle version for 3 yrs now but got a notice from Amazon today that they were going from 12 to 9 issues a year and I would get a refund for any over payment
I gave up on it when they went digital only last spring. I can’t stand reading a magazine online. Even if they go back to print I won’t renew. Not much info that’s relevant to me these days.
I tried to subscribe to the magazine this summer through Amazon. The subscription was supposed to start in August or September. I never received the magazine and contacted Amazon. After some back and forth, Amazon said they couldn't fix the problem and gave me a credit which I immediately used to help pay for an ND filter.
Outdoor Photographer did not go digital in my area since I receive my magazine, like clock work, monthly in the mail. My latest issue of Outdoor Photographer magazine arrived last week. I have never received an email about receiving each issue digitally. It may be that in some areas they have gone digital for Outdoor Photographer.
I had the same thing happen to me. I loved getting the magazine in the mail years ago.

It is still being printed and is also sent via email for electronic reading. The only problem I have with this still-surviving magazine is that it often offers very little in the way of good reading. They did once, I think, publish something from Marc Muench and that is great landscape information, but a lot of it is not very helpful to me at this point in my photography journey.

I going to put it on my credit card and date it January 7 and mail it in on Friday, January 8 with a note on it and see if they honor it . If not I will cancel.
The Jan-Feb ‘21 issue is sitting on my friend’s desk. Flipping through it I can say that you are not missing anything.

Same here. I really miss having the hard copy to carry around with me. The online experience is sadly lacking.
