Amen brother, I use Backblaze in addition to a RAID 1 harddrive system.
I am stuck with very slow upload speeds. Takes forever to upload a few images for UHH posts!

That being the case, if you choose a cloud service for a disaster recovery copy, you might consider one like BackBlaze, which will provide you with a HD to use for your initial “seeding” of the cloud. After that (and you return the drive), you’ll just be sending changes and new files to the cloud, and this can be scheduled while you’re asleep at night.

Thank you again to everyone who helped me with my storage and backup issues!
After a lengthy upload to Amazon Photos, I was not very impressed with the results. I suspect it was incomplete (it only mentioned 67 images from 2020; I typically take that in a day.) Also, photos from many sources (iPad, iPhone, etc.) intermingled with my Lightroom photos so it's rather unorganized at the moment. Perhaps there's a way to get after that, but I haven't found it yet.
So, based on the great advice of many of you out there, I've just signed up for Backblaze. It feels right.
Again, awesome Hogs, thanks for all you do. It is a privilege to be part of this community.

External memory drives are really cheap these days. I keep my images on 2 external drives, duplicated. If I run out of room on those I buy another 2. Being something of a Neanderthal, I do not use LR to catalog my files and I do not trust "the cloud". I keep one of those two identical drives disconnected from my machine, connecting it only when I want to retrieve something. I keep the other in my safe deposit box at the bank. If you don't have a box at your bank, ask a friend or relative to hold the second copy, preferably in a location where it won't burn or flood should your home be damaged.

Until your internet issue is resolved, you aren’t a good candidate for cloud storage - consider an off-site copy in a safe deposit box or at a friend’s/relative’s home or office.
