WAZE navigation applications cost nothing on my iPhone. Price is right, directions are correct and it tells you where the delays are and then then redirects around the slow area. Try WAZE.COM

A GPS for a truck or motor home might be using maps that are very different from those you would use if you were traveling by car. In some cases the routing necessary for a motor home or truck would add several hours to the trip. For example I had to drive to a town on Long Island from Monticello, a motor home route sent me over the George Washington Bridge and avoided parkways. The estimated time to my destination was over 5 hours. While a more direct route by car could theoretically get me there in 2.5.

I just replaced mine (Christmas President) with about 4"X6" (just guessing the size, it's in the car) and its great. Better picture and graphics.

Garmin has introduced a new GPS - The Navigator. It measures 10", and it's intended for motorhomes. I wonder how that would work in my Honda Fit.

Would it "FIT"? What is the cost?

I use Google Maps for everything and it's free and always with me on my iPhone.

Google Maps cannot find my home location, but my Garmin system in my Honda Accord can. During this Pandemic, I've used quite a few home delivery features of local stores, Costco being one of them. I had to put a note on the directions to my home, that Google maps finds a location 10 miles from me. I suggested to the drivers not to use Google Maps.

Enjoy it. I use a 17" laptop running Streets & Trips for my navigation.

You won't need to look out the window -- just follow the instructions as to when to turn.

Not true. Most phone GPSs do not work outside cell phone service because they need to download maps over cell. Dedicated GPSs have maps is memory.

I mostly travel outside cell service.

I tested / compared my up-to-date Garmon against Google Maps in remote areas of Big Bend, TX. Google was far superior. I downloaded maps before going into non-cell areas. Google did a great job. Only deficit was inabililty to find services in remote areas because this data is downloaded un real time. Of course, a small screen can be hardervto read, but I use a mount that puts it closer to my ole eyes.

The advanced downloadignof Google maps is a great asset.

A guy I use to work with put his 10"tablet on the window with a suction cup holder when we went out to a job. Amazed he never got a ticket.

I mounted my Garmin with a floor mount attached to the bolt that holds the seat down. That put out closer to my ole eyes. In my truck I had to extend the floor mount with a Rube Goldberg extender because of the seat height. I now just use my cell phone with a long armed mount suction cupped to a little side window. There are floor mounts available for cell phones.
