Is this becoming an impromptu challenge? Still taking pictures with the phone, such as the one of a truck passing me on the freeway.

I don't usually submit them in this category since they go away so quickly. The photo gallery sticks around a while.

You can post your Smartphone images in the Smartphone section and in the Photo Gallery. Posting them here helps support the new Smartphone section.

Matter of fact. Y’can post images made with your smartphone here in our smartphone section, as well as in any other appropriate section: gallery, closeup, macro, people, landscape, FYC, boudoir, critique, post processing...wherever.
It would be usefully informative if you would mention the specific camera used to make the image. Seems a good idea; call it “outreach” or “good PR”!

We should not labor under the delusion that all participants in UHH routinely view the Smartphone Section! And we produce many images of specific interest to followers of many other sections.

Personally, I have wondered why UHH has no 35mm, B&W, High-key, medium and large format film, infra-red, and mirrorless sections. And if there were, I would fully expect that most images would likely be posted in more than one section.

Other thoughts?

Dave

I was actually able to download pics from my phone the other day - or at least part of them. Also, a friend showed me the program on my phone that would process pictures. That was fun! So what I did was pit the phone processed image against that same original processed via LR. Interesting results. Taken with Galaxy 2. What do you think?

LR did a little better, but not much. Both are nice.

It's really hard to judge images on the web because people have different viewing devices, Phones, Desktop computers, laptops, Ipad's etc. Most I would say are not color calibrated devices. Anyway, I am viewing from a color calibrated monitor and while both are good, I believe the LR edit has a bit more vibrancy in it.
What program did you use to edit the image on your phone?

Also, thank you for participating in our new section. I look forward to seeing more of your images.

I agree with you. But I was pleasantly surprised at what the in-phone app could do!

I had to go look at my phone to find out! It's under the "google" group, so I assume it's google Photos.

I have also discovered that if I change my photo capture setting to "pro," I get better initial photos! I can then control things a bit to my liking instead of just taking what the camera says. But, it does do a pretty good job.

I sent you a Private message with a link about Snapseed. It's a very good Free photo editing app to use on your phone. I would have put the link in here but they don't like us to do that.
