haha. I may've mentioned earlier that Verizon provides a free app that flags any incoming call whose number does not appear in my contact list. The phone does not ring but does show the number of the incoming call.

Verizon has a workaround for a caller not in my contact list. If the caller repeats his call within 60 seconds, the Verizon app will let the call through.

This app has helped me to avoid answering countless unwanted calls.

You can also register your phone number with the National Do Not Call registery at https://www.donotcall.gov/

This registry screens most all unwanted calls.
