Very enjoyable series, Mark. I'm reminded of srt101fan's topic here about what attracts us to a photo. One of my thoughts (paraphrased):

A subject or scene that I have photo'd or would like to photo...I will admire these at length trying to decide if I would have seen/discovered the same pov or composition.

This ice series - as with many of yours - finds me lingering beyond the initial LOVE 'EM response, to see what I can learn from you about seeing. Thank you!

Wonderful set. Loved the detail in the downloads. I saw something beautiful in every image. Thanks.

You have put your finger on crux of the most compelling aspect of my interest and involvement with these types of images. My input is primarily trying to put the edges in the right place. All of these have been cropped from the original image. To my way of thinking, at least, composition is the primary goal of any two dimensional art. The photo encompasses areas I see as most interesting, or even exciting, but putting the boundaries on it I cannot do in camera.

The two blue one, cropped by the double download on my small screen became completely immersive. Wonderful abstracts. Thanks you for posting.

In the winter now days, I primarily shoot ice. This was the first opportunity of the season. After the rain erased all our snow over the eve, and Christmas day, the temps dropped enough to form ice in a couple puddles, which were barely a quarter inch deep if that.

Alien space wars...??

Yes, and I think of it as well spent time and effort to document it.

Funny you say that. I sent one of the blue ones to a photographer friend and he said it was looking galactic.

Yea there’s almost a whole universe in there. It’s a shame you can’t see them at the original resolution.
