A terrific image. Was it shot in B&W or converted and or was it just a B&W day

Thanks for the comment. It was not shot in B&W, but the original had very little color. There was some brown on various trees that was distracting. So I converted to B&W.

Excellent! One of the best b&w conversions I have seen this year. The visual design is awesome.
The exposure for the snow was also excellent.

Very generous comment. Thank you.

You have captured this very well - from the pristine white of the snow to the beautiful texture of the tree bark. My only niggle is whatever seems to be blocking the path at the end of the tree line. But it's so distant that it's barely there.

You must have carefully examined the photo to notice the end of the tree line. But your noticing it shows that I need to do a little more work on it.

Nice work as it is, Alan, enjoyed. Have you thought about cropping about half the snow off the bottom to put more emphasis on the trees and shadows?

No, I had not thought about it. But it is a good idea, and I will try it and see what I think. Thanks for the idea.

Belongs on your wall

I already have quite a few of my photos on the walls, but there is always room for one more! It is a possibility, but my wife always has veto power. In any event, thank you.

This was taken on Thursday in Central Park after New York City's first snowstorm of the year. I usually like taking pictures of snow, but for whatever reason found it difficult to find interesting shots that day. I think I like this one, but interested in reactions of others. All comments and criticisms are welcome and appreciated. Thanks for looking.
